Hurts MVP, Jalen Hurts

There Is No Stopping Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts is just getting silly. We have talked for weeks on this blog about how Hurts should be (is) the front-runner for the 2022 NFL MVP Award, then, each and every week, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback goes out and adds another monster game to his collection this season.

His latest epic was a stunningly dominant performance from the signal caller position as his Eagles moved to 12-1 with a 48-22 win over the New York Giants. This is the same Giants team that had been making noise in the NFC East earlier in the season, but the beatdown that the Eagles put on the Giants in their own Meadowlands backyard left no doubt about the relative standing of the two franchises with the playoffs on the horizon.

Jalen Hurts is Unstoppable

The playoffs is where the Eagles are now guaranteed to be headed after this win clinched a spot in the postseason. The Eagles are also closing in on the No. 1 seed in the NFC, though the Dallas Cowboys are hot and cannot be counted out. It is certainly worth noting, however, that the No. 1 seed quest was helped out by the Minnesota Vikings being upset by the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday.

Back to Hurts, though, and his monster season. In the last couple of weeks, Hurts first passed the Green Bay Packers to death. He followed that with an epic rushing performance against the Tennessee Titans as the Eagles beat a team once considered a threat in the AFC. Against the Giants, Hurts went off with both his arm and his legs.

His wildly efficient line saw Hurts go 21-of-31 through the air for 217 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also had seven carries for 77 yards and another score. Hurts is playing in this zone, where he can take over a game. The final score may have been 48-22, but that is giving the Giants way too much credit, as the contest wasn’t nearly that close.

Hurts completed passes to seven different receivers ON THE EAGLES FIRST DRIVE. He didn’t slow down until the game was over as a contest. When you consider there were even a couple of drops on perfectly thrown passes – so his stats could have been even better – you start to understand why Jalen Hurts, at this moment, is in a class of his own.

Always remember folks to bleed Eagles’ green, and Fly Hurts Fly!
